                                                                                    基地位於市區的近郊,與Louis Kohn 的Kimbell Art Museum相臨,Ando被業主要求提供一個能夠在欣賞藝術之餘

                                                                                    休息和回憶的空間,Ando將其佈置為六條平行塊體呈L形的平面構圖坐落在1.5英畂的水池上,而每個塊體的高

                                                                                    與Kimbell Art Museum的高度一致,建築物一樓是公共空間、臨時展廳、教育辨公用房,二樓是永久收藏。

                                                                                    Concept                                                            

                                                                                    在Fortworth嚴酷的開候條件下,Ando的第一件功課便是思考如何在表現他熟練的光影和藝術品的維護上取得平

                                                                                    衡,故Ando與工程顧問研究出利用濾光源系統以天窗將日光引入藝廊而不損害藝術品。

                                                              在外形上Ando將慣用的混凝土面體呈現在外包的玻璃表皮內,獲調了玻璃的透明性,也成功的營造了使用者與

                                                                                   自然對話的親切感,在傍晚時,博物館就像是 一盞明亮的日式燈籠般敞揚在一片池塘上。

                                                                                   而博物館中最引人注目的Y柱,Ando為了維持其完整性的堅持卻又不危及結構上的安全,而將上部以預鑄的方式

                                                                                   製造後與下部接合並予其外包覆混凝土,才保留了Y柱在視覺上的整體性。

                                                                                   Thought                                                             

                                                               Ando對於現代的建築大師Kohn的尊敬早就已經不是密秘了,而Ando這個作品能與Kohn相左為鄰,Ando也展現了

                                                                                    對他的敬意,不只在配置或立面上、展覽場自然採光的引進,Ando都巧妙的透露出他對Kohn的追隨卻不模仿的

                                                                                    態度,(相較於Ando曾於Frank O. Gehry旁設計的Vitra Seminar House,則毫不客氣的封一道牆將面對Gehry的視野

                                                                                    "完封") 而且最大的敬意則是表現在於他對建築物結構工程品質的要求及呈現,"Architectural Record"雜誌曾提

                                                                                    到 「博物館內的每一道牆都是用手磨過的,而且都磨得如絲一般光滑」,這點更詮釋了日本人追求完美的民族
