【競賽主旨】:
Identifying good design since 1950, the Red Dot Design Award received more than 18,000 applications in 2016. Making the competition one of the biggest and most prestigious design awards worldwide. In 2005, the award recognised the need to identify and celebrate new design concept and innovation, the precursor of tomorrow’s great product. Believing a design concept must be evaluated based on its design merit without prejudice, the award created a unprecedented platform that accept entries from companies to design students.

作品名稱:Build Fender
設計概念:
Nature environment is suffering high pressure cause lot of factories and resident houses appear as people developing science and technology. The concept comes from the component of cells. Different components have individual effects and works, which build up a building that works like creature. Like cell controls in and out of materials, the building is to become the protection of earth. Pollution will be limited inside the building itself, while stopping destroying nature, it also purifies our environment.

作品名稱:RECOAST
設計概念:
Recoast is a kind of hexagonal wave block with several holes. It can be assembled or piled up according needs, furthermore, connect with the pavement component to create a new activity space. The uniform type makes production and replacement easier, thus, it can reduce the cost.
Different from the traditional form, Recoast activate the space upon and between the blocks. People can use the top of blocks as ground. Additionally, the holes in the blocks create a neat space like the artificial reef to let ocean creature live.
The hexagonal block units are easy to be assembled in any angle. It can be applied to different types of landform, creating different functions or landscapes. The arrangement can be adjusted according to the condition of erosion and sea current.
When tide rising, it’s dangerous for people to stay in coast area. To avoid the accident, there is a tide warning system on every pavement unit which consists of several waterproof lights and sensors. According to the sea level and tide condition, the lights shine different colors to show people whether is safe to have activities in this area. If Recoast is placed at the no-tide area like lake or riverside, the system also can be used as installation art.

作品名稱:Spotlight Public Seating
設計概念:
This Spotlight public seating breaks the traditional impression of public seating as waiting people and resting is the only function. Taking form from morning glory, Spotlight public seating possess petal-like film mask, which could shade against sunlight and rain during the day, and become projection screen at night. With the Voice sensing system interaction system installed, projection produces sparkling fireflies,bring the city a bit of greenery it enhances the communication between people, as a result, the seat becomes an interactive small public art which could gather public.

作品名稱:Bioilluminant
設計概念:
Office have a great environmental impact due to wasting natural resources, which blocks the ambient light and uses a large number of artificial illuminations. Besides, under high thermal conduction in summer, running air conditioners cause excessive waste of energy.
The natural resources of ambient light is usually being sacrificed by the tinted window film, but using bioilluminant can solve this problem. In addition to the direction and illuminance of the light can be controlled just like curtains, the water medium also can reduce the temperature conductivity. To make good use of the natural resources and decrease the waste are the main issue that we aim to solve.

作品名稱:Green slab
設計概念:
In order to combine plant wall with wallboard, seeds of different species are put inside the wallboard. The seeds grow while absorbing the rainwater in which brings greeneries and energizes the environment. Moreover, the technique saves and reuses water, the plants help purifying the mild-contaminated-water while absorbing the substances in it. The plant wall provides fresh air and helps cooling down the temperature in both indoor and outdoor, which turns a city into a cozy artistic garden.

作品名稱:Breathing Barrier
設計概念:
Air pollution is an urgent environmental issue needed to be solved. Its emissions of vehicles and PM 2.5 cause acid rain and pollution. Barriers are the highest interface contacting traffic flow. Moss can grow on the roadside in emissions, also can absorb vehicle emissions as nutrient. It’s why we hope to improve pollution problems through the combination of these.
